LeadershipAs President and CEO of Action Technology Services, Rob Wellborn brings a wealth of specialized IT systems engineering, acquisition and leadership experience to his role.
For the past 21+ years, Rob has been at the forefront of Department of Defense and Department of the Army Information Technology systems design and fielding efforts. As a US Army Major, assigned to the Program Executive Office - Enterprise Information Systems, Rob served as a Project Manager in Europe where he modernized Command & Control Facilities for US European Command & US Africa Command. As an Army Lieutenant Colonel and then as an Army Civilian in the Army’s Information Systems Engineering Command (USAISEC) Rob led a 230+ personnel team of IT engineers and technicians supporting the Army Project Manager for the Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP) as they modernized the IT infrastructure on hundreds of Army Posts, Camps & Stations in CONUS, Europe, the PacRim region and Southwest Asia. As part of his I3MP lead responsibilities Rob led the Army team that sponsored 85% of all products, seeking Joint Interoperability Certification. Rob was instrumental in bringing many cutting edge products through the difficult certification processes so they could be fielded on DoD networks. In his final 10 years as an Army Civilian Rob first served as the Senior Systems Engineer for the I3MP Project Manager in Korea and then as a Project Manager responsible for fielding critical Command & Control systems and capabilities for both the US and South Korea governments. Rob’s knowledge, technical experience and professionalism have made him a highly sought after commodity that is an excellent fit with Action Tech’s goals and strategic objectives. |
